Buyers Guide

"I like the fact that I can add modules to my belt
after I purchase more hunting gear."

All your gear . . . wear you want it.

That's our mantra.

The Duckbill platform is a modular one. We want you to decide what's most comfortable, convenient and accessible for you. We allow you to wear your gear where you want it. Our MaxCon™ docking technology assures that happens.

The many different sized and shaped module along with their interchangeable nature makes for a platform that can carry a wide variety of gear we know you take out on your excursions.

3 Steps to determining the correct modules for you.

We have over 50 products and modules, each available in a number of colors and patterns. While some of our modules are a natural fit for the many items you carry, many of our modules will carry a large majority of your gear. The possibilities are near limitless and it would be impossible to list all the possible combinations here.

A lot of your gear, while performing the same task, are different sizes (ie knives, flashlights, insect repellent, binoculars, camera etc). That's why we've outlined the inside carrying dimensions of each of our modules - so you can determine what works best for you. Here's how we recommend you proceed with your shopping:

Step 1:

Determine what items you carry most often when you're enjoying your outdoor activity. While determining what items you carry, prioritize the accessibility you¹d like with your gear.

Step 2:

Measure the size of some of your more unique items such as binoculars, camera, tools, knives, flashlight etc.

Step 3:

Combine the needs of step 1 with the size of items in step 2 to determine the best sized modules for you, and whether you'd like to carry that gear on the vertical plane of our suspenders, or horizontally on a belt. From an ergonomic standpoint, our research indicates that if you are carrying more than 12 pounds of gear, it is advantageous to wear suspenders to help support that weight and help aid in the reduction of pain and fatigue associated with carrying that much weight in one location.

Five ways to find the modules for want.

By using the left navigation, you can find our products on this site in five ways:

One. Shop by product:

The foundation to the Duckbill platform is our belt.

You can link to, and read about, our belts and suspenders from here. You can find out more about our ingenious spotting scope carrying system (known as SPOC - single platform optics carrier) from here.

This section also has all our modules broken down into two categories: modules for our suspenders or our SPOC, and modules for our utility belt.

Two. Shop by modules that carry specific items:

We have listed the majority of common items that most outdoors enthusiasts are apt to carry, and have made suggestions as to which modules may be appropriate to hold such items. Obviously these are just suggestions, as you ultimately can determine what, and where, you want to carry your gear. That's the beauty of this system. It's flexible and interchangeable.

Three. Shop by module size:

We have broken down the dimensions of all our modules into small, medium or large sized categories.

Four. Shop by module price:

We are sensitive to the importance of product cost, so as an option we've separated our products by price in this section.

Five. Shop for complete rig:

In this section we have three complete rig set-ups (starter, average and full) for hunters and fishermen, and four rigs for birders. As a package, these rigs are offered at a discounted rate. It's a great way to save money, or to just get an idea of how some people are utilizing our platform. Although we only list 3 types of outdoor activities, cyclists, hikers and climbers take advantage of our system as well.
