We are Duckbill Outdoors, makers of technologically advanced ergonomic gear-carrying equipment. Our gear-carrying rigs feature a utility belt (with or without suspenders) to which all of our high-grade nylon & leather pouches, holsters, bags, and other carrying apparatus are docked.

Duckbill Outdoors was founded on the premise that outdoors enthusiasts, who so often carry large amounts of gear, deserve a high-quality and ergonomic gear-carrying solution.

 

The Problem:

Although we can't tell you exactly what every person carries on every excursion, we can tell you that we know it's a lot. And carrying items like ammunition, binoculars, a cell phone, camera and snacks, or, a note pads, an iPod, sunglasses and tackle or a host of other items like a video camera, spotting scope and first aid, can literally be a pain in the back, or neck, or shoulder.

The Consequences:

Carrying all your gear in a backpack is not a very efficient way to haul your stuff around. To access your gear you must take the pack off. And rummaging through all your gear, or finding the correct pocket is a waste of time, energy and is an inconvenience. Carrying all the weight on your back, or within one or two pouches that are constantly shifting on a belt can put undue stress on your muscular/skeletal system and cause fatigue or pain.

The Solution:

Duckbill's secure, interchangeable and repositionable module pouch and holster system utilizes the proprietary and patented Duckbill MaxCon™ docking technology with our belt and suspenders. This platform allows you to carry all your gear in an easy-to-reach, convenient and comfortable manner. Some modules are made to hold specific items while others can hold whatever will fit. You decide what's best for you. The suspenders can quickly be removed leaving you with just a belt-full of modules to hold your essential items – very accessibly.

MaxCon™ Technology:

Our unique MaxCon™ docking system ensures that once a module is in place, it won''t move or slide on the Duckbill belt or suspender. Yet, it's easily repositionable. The overlapping VelcroŽ keeps all the modules securely attached when you remove the platform – which allows you to just hang it on a hook, or throw it in the back of a truck – and be assured that you''ll be all ready to go on your next outing.

Product Development & Materials Used:

From the very beginning, when we set out to build this gear, we knew that the caliber of the raw materials and the integrity of the design had to be spot-on. There are five things that drive our product development, design and construction:

Duckbill gear is designed to resist heavy use. There's no embossing to compromise the microstructure of the leather. We use industrial strength snaps, hooks and VelcroŽ to aid the utility and the functionality of the gear we build for you. And all the nylon used is 500 denier CorduraŽ that is water repellent, abrasive and puncture/tear resistant.

Each module is additionally custom designed to avoid unnecessary strains on the linear strength of the materials we use. We designed-out anything that might impair the structural integrity of the material we carefully select for use.

We use industrial strength plastic molded – not woven – VelcroŽ guaranteeing a long bonding life with our complementing utility belt and suspenders.

Duckbill also recognizes the need for silence while out in the field, so all of our module closures are plastic, noise-free rotating clasps.

Personal Productivity:

Obviously we make gear that's rugged and functional, but it's also made to be worn comfortably.

The concept of Personal Productivity is what drives Duckbill Outdoors. When you're in the field, you're there in part because you enjoy the challenge, but you're also there to achieve personal goals and to perform up to the standards you've set for yourself.

If your gear isn't helping you to do that, then it's preventing you from doing your best.

We don't want to sell you what we decide. We want you to own what you need. We want to sell you what you need to achieve your goals on your terms - not ours.


And so everything we make is made when you order it from the raw material that's best suited to the challenge you assign to it. This process takes a little longer, but we think the result is a better one.
